ADM has recently completed a number of rotary assembly machines used in the manufacture of seat belt products. The machines, linked together by a central conveyor, incorporate a variety of riveting processes, percussive marking of the product and automatic checking of all functions carried out by operators. Left and right hand product can be handled by the machines without the need for tooling changes. Each machine is fitted with its own PLC and display showing operator instructions and fault diagnostics. Faulty products are segregated automatically by the system. Pick and place operations are carried out using AFAG modules. The frames and guards, constructed from BOSCH aluminium extrusions, are designed to provide a safe environment for operations and easy access for maintenance staff. |
